Can you convert remote (80 series supra) W58 shifter?

Got a 80 Series Supra W58 gearbox with remote shifter in a 1/2 cut but need to have MA70 W58 gearstick position to suit MX83, can you change the shifter position by getting the MA70 one and bolting on ?

Yes but you may need to drill and tap the selector rod. Refer to this thread.
