Default Diff centre conversion. 4.5 to 3.7

I have a LSD centre and a set of 3.9 gears that suposedly came from a 1995 T/D Hilux.
    I bought a "G" code carrier from a LN85 with 4.875 gears.
The thing is it would seem the 3.9 pinon is to big for the carrirer. The crown wheel fits the LSD centre.
I dont have the original crown and pinion from the carrier to compare them.

Any ideas on what to do. Is there any differance between the "G" code centres? 2wd or 4wd.

There a quite a few different G series centers. The crownwheel offset changed for different ratios. I think there are only two different offsets. There was a high pinion version used on the front of some landcruisers. You might need the Supra center to suit your gears which use a torsen LSD if you can find one. Surf carriers have extra webbing.

    Dazza thanks for your reply.

I just heard from a friend of a mate that the differance is in early and late carrires.
Does any one know what is the year they changed?
Can I then put my LSD into a late centre?
I can now see the pinion bearings are different.
All I want is 3.7 for my "G" code RN85.

    HELP!

The carriers changed around 1984. Early carriers had 45mm stubs for the bearings to fit on and later are 50mm. The outer diameter of both bearings are the same.
