Default T56 6 Speed Manual Gearbox to 1UZ-FE Engine Adapter Kits

    Hi All,

If anyone has any questions about using a T56 manual box on a 1UZ engine, I have made an adapter kit that works very well and would be happy to answer anything relating to this type of conversion

Have you put a t56 into a mx83 cressida before?

What version of t56 have you done a conversion with? I assume the commodore vt-vz?

even with google seems a bit tricky but any idea if a later VE tr6060 has the same input shaft length and pattern bellhousing>box?

Im unsure of what the patterns and dimnesions are on the TR6060. But I would certainly be happy to assist with the MX83 install. Should be fairly simple. Ive converted an MX83 to 1UZ manual (W58), and a soarer to manual T56, VT-VZ, and it works well.

Are you located in Sydney? Are you wanting to use a TR6060 box?

no im not in sydeny. a local guy had a tr6060 for sale which is said to be a much nicer box for shifting. Ill just for the earlier vt-vz t56 instead. should be okay with a rip shifter, cant be any worse then a tired w58.

upgrading from the w58 was just curious to know if you knew how much tunnel modding would be needed, if it could be bashed or a new section would have to be made. Its pretty large, esp around the mounting flange. having said that recently a jza80 getrag was put into a mx83 without tunnel mods just by spacing the gearbox x-member down slightly and those boxs are huge.
    -JZX83 in the build

Hey mate. Well the body of the T56 would be very similar to the getrag. Id almost be certain it will fit without any trouble.

I have a rip shifter thats fairly new, i know they are pricey at about $500 new, but can off this one to you for $300 if that helps persuae you to get the T56.

I also have the adapter plate kit ready to post out.

    cheers

Yeah fair enough. I know the r154 generally require some massaging. will just see how it goes.

Ive descided on the t56 and have ordered the adapter plate.

You have revised pricing? I remember them being quite a bit more then that. I would have considered yours if i knew that earlier. Ordered from CRS who have been making this type of thing for decades.

Yes I had been misleading. My kit included a clutch kit for $650. CRS have been doing conversion parts for decades, i have bought many things from them.

Brintech specialises in 1UZ and T56 conversions
