    Thumbs up [DETAIL] Mitsubishi Evolution MR (EVO 8)

    At CCP we do a variety of cars, from Ferrari's to Landcruisers to the occasion Vans and even EVO's!

    The owner of this Mitsubishi EVO wanted her paint as perfect as it possibly could be, even though that they know they would have to take extra care as this car also gets tracked time to time!

    You will find it's quite common to find most Japanese Imported Vehicles to have certain parts or even most of the car repainted before arriving in Australia, which some cars look better than others based on the quality of work for the repair/paint of course.

    Luckily the paintwork was in quite a good state when it arrived and just the standard spiderwebs/swirls from general washing and other usual contaminants found over the car with only minor paint work.

    The EVO was booekd in for;

    ■ Full Paint Correction & Detail
    ■ Wheel Sealant Application (22PLE Rim Sealant)
    ■ Standard Full Interior Clean

    Products & Machines used;

    We used a few machines to correct the paintwork due to the contoured panels and angled guards. The new RUPES LHR15 Bigfoot (15mm) was used quite a bit, along with the Festool RAP80 and DAS6-Pro. Polishes used were our standard Menzerna FG500, PF2500 and finishing with SF4000.

    The choice of protection on this car was Wolfs Chemicals Hard Body 9H which would leave the car with an incredibly wet sharp finish on this beautiful metallic grey colour and also with some scratch resistance which hopefully may help those track days.

    Interior had a good coating of what looked like a silicone based product such as armor*** which left the dash a little too glossy for the owners liking and ourselves at Car Care Products. We used 1Z Einszett Deep Plastic Cleaner to give all the plastic trim a good clean prior to application of 1Z Cockpit Premium to leave a satin/matte factory like finish of the plastic and vinyl interior trim.

    Engine Bay was cleaned with a mixture of 1Z Einszett W99 All Purpose Cleaner along with the Vikan Engine & Surrounds Brushes and dressed with 1Z Einszett Vinyl & Rubber Protectant.

    Tyres dressed with Autobrite Berry Tyre Gel for a high-gloss finish to match the glossy wheels and paintwork.

    Pictures upon arrival;

    White Wheels always look great but after a day driving i think many realise how hard they are to keep clean and even more so, looking new and as glossy!

    The paintwork had quite a bit of heavy marring in certain areas, and the standard general spiderwebs/swirls found over most of the vehicle too.

    The Carbon Wing also had quite a bit of marring.

    Door Pillars, notorious on every car for heavy marring due to the soft plastic!

    A few water stain marks and general spiderwebbing on the bonnet.

    The EVO doesn't look terrible, but it definitely isn't popping out or as glossy as it could be!

    Headlights also received some rejuvenation, 50/50 shot as you can see - left side uncorrected and right side being corrected. Colour and clarity returning quite quickly!

    Showing the comparisons with the '50/50' shots below from corrected to uncorrected paintwork. You can see the colour, depth and clarity becoming a lot more evident after being corrected which once completed and protected will definitely show a lot more gloss and depth to the metallic paint.

    Carbon and Fibreglass surfaces also benefit from being corrected, notice below the differences

    Reflection shot of the RUPES LHR15E.

    Big Brakes + Water & Surface rust will unfortunately cause rust staining on white wheels, protecting these with a good Synthetic Sealant such as Nanolex Ultra, 22PLE Rim or even Wolfs Chemicals Rim Shield will help clean and protect the surface from staining and other contaminants.

    A good clean with 1Z Einszett's W99 All Purpose Cleaner under all the arches with the Vikan Wheel & Arch Brush does wonders. Dressed with 1Z Einszett Vinyl & Rubber Protectant.
