    Default 7MGE into Corona MKII

    I have a Corona MKII MX23 that I want to put a 7MGE in.
For the donor vehicle I got a running MX83 (auto obviously).
The MKII is minus a motor but has a W50.

I have seen a few people have done this so thought I'd ask some questions before I get started.

    1. The 7M sump looks like it wont clear the MKII engine crossmember, what sump do it need? Will a 4M sump fit a 7M?
    2. What flywheel/clutch assembly do I need for the 7M / W50 combo?
    3. Will the MX83 exhaust manifold fit or will it go too far down and scrape the road?

You will need a mid sump from a Crown or MK2 and oil pickup to suit and use the 7M oil pump.Any M series sump will fit. When I had the 7M in my MX13 I just used the stock clutch and flywheel.MX83 manifold and engine pipe will fit but on full lock left the pipes do touch the pitman arm but its not a real issue.
    Cheers Brett.

MA70 flywheel (any M series NA flywheel should work though)
    2JZGE JZA80 clutch kit

Did you keep everything on the 7M and transfer it across into the MKII or did you ditch somethings that aren't necessary?

I think the 2M/4M flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and throwout beaing with carrier are the same.
And then the 5M/6M/7M non-turbo are another set that are the same as each other.

    Is that right?
So really I need to take everything from the same car, flywheel to clutch fork and everything inbetween. As long as it is an M series engine and W series gearbox.

I did away with power steer pump and air con.

M,2M and 4M flywheel, clutch pressure plate and throw out fork and bearing are the same.

5M,6M and 7M are the same but they run a bigger clutch and pressure plate(flywheels are the same but its the clutch surface diameter that is the difference).
    Cheers Brett.

    Hello!

I am thinking to do new swap to my RX12, 7MGTE + W50. I'am already swapped 5ME + W50 to this but now I think 7MGTE. I was thinking that 5ME flywheel is same as 7MGE but now I found that they are different. I must find 7MGE flywheel and then I was consider Clutch Masters FX300 Clutch behind 7M.

One question, will 7M-GE flywheel and clutch fit well inside to old M-W50 bellhousing? 7MGE clutch seems to be bigger than 5ME. Normally W58 is behind 7M. I have old bellhousing and there are missing two top trans. mounting bolt holes if it matters.

    AK from Finland.

5me clutch and fly will work on the 7mgte, just the clutch plate diameter is smaller (225 vs 236 or 240mm)

Your w50 will not last long behind a 7mgte however
There is no substitute for PUBIC inches

Yes it works but I think it slips and not hold enough. W50 is little risk but someones are drived with those very well with 300hp. 5th gear is weak I am hear. And MKII rear is more lighter than MKIII Supra so I think it can work some time. R154 should be better but those are so expensive and much more work to fit it. What I read W58 is not so much stronger than W50 so I don't buy that.

When W50 is broken must save money again to transmission swap
