Default Possible infection received from Toymods on Friday

Whilst having a quick look at a couple of threads on Friday night, my work laptop picked up some virus which basically locks the computer, and comes up with a message from the "AFP" that I have been spreading malware, downloading illegal content, or looking at kiddy porn or some such shit. Apparently these illegal activities incur a massive fine, but it will somehow go away if I pay $100 to some random kents called Ucash.
Considering its a work computer, I obviously don't go to any sites that wouldn't be kosher with the network policies, so pretty much anything work related, and a couple of forums like this one. Work IT boffins will be getting rid of it on Monday hopefully, but have suggested that they have seen a few such things come from forums lately, and put it down to the advertising sponsors being infected.
Could have got it elsewhere and it lay dormant for a little while, but thought I should post it anyway.

Same, I got some trojan worm during the week which locked down my work laptop and set some antivirus software up which attached itself to my profile in the hard drive. It kept saying I had to pay money to update the antivirus software to make it go away.

My IT guys at work took three hours to get rid of it. Likewise, I only frequent forums, gumtree and ebay outside of hours. However, I could not say it was Toymods that was the source.

Yeah i got Trojan's and Malware too. Only way i could tell originally was that my clock was wrong.. And even after changing it, You'd restart and it'd be wrong again.. All fixed now but yeah i assume it was from here as Chrome wouldn't let me access the site for a few days about a week back due to "Malware"

'Malwarebites' ftw for detecting and clearing if anyone wants something for it.

Osx and linux are far from immune.. But majority are for windows.
