i can look for stuff if you need it though.
Looking for some brake pads and front strut inserts, used is perfectly fine because it got to be better than stock lol
I've got AE86 front coilover struts/brakes here that I'll get on, I think all I need is a set of AE86 PS tie rods and I'm good.
Not sure about the rear end, I cant really makita the springs with a stock panhard rod but I tried a test skid on some concrete and it was jackhammering pretty epic in the rear. I think a set of bushes, adjustable panhard rod, springs and shocks will sort it but the bank account is depressingly empty at the moment.

Been browsing a few sites and fuck, wish I had $10k to spend on this thing

ahh ok... well most of the stuff you need is gone, although i might have some springs (doubtful) so i will check tonight.
check also AE86DC there is usually someone parting shit out that could be had cheaply.

the biggest problem you will have is the powersteer arms, pretty much everyone wants those and you kinda need XT130corona LCA's to go with them.
im pretty sure you have my number so if you need any help give me a buzz man

I need to sign up to a few forums, there is a lot of information out there.
On the plus side, it is nice to finally have a car that you can readily buy parts for.

Hi, guys, I'm keen for a track day but wont be able to make this date, I'll keep my eyes peeled for the next one.
I do have one question: I've heard rumours that you can no longer get insurance for your vehicle when you're on a race track, is this true?!

you could never get insurance for racing on the track no insurance company is EVER going to take the risk, so yes that is true.
so drive within your and your cars limits and your fine.

lol yeah I know it may seem like a silly question but I only ask because I've been told you used to be able to get it. After all, there's a market for it.
Considering what I've spent on the car, I'd happily pay a few hundred dollars for a single day worth of track insurance.
In fact, now that I know you cant get it, it has me seriously considering risking taking the car onto a track at all...

The general saying is "if you cant afford to set it on fire and walk away, you cant afford to race it" That's why most people race shitboxes To be fair, wakefield park is quite a safe track, but nobody can guarantee you safety. So if your car has had some irreplaceable work done etc i can understand why you would second guess yourself..

If you don't want to crash it, you wont (not that there is much to hit anyway)
Every time I have had a big off I've sorta known it was coming haha

I'm more worried about other drivers hitting me!
Does that happen often on this sort of meet? I understand that accidents happen, especially at the amateur racing level, but what about on a track day like this?

Everyone is pretty laid back, no racing or dodgy overtaking is allowed and people seem to stick to the rules.
By mid afternoon everyone has either called it a day or fucked their car so you can be all alone out there pretty much

this is a private practice day, not a race. it is usually attended by very experienced regular drivers either from toymods or MWSCC, or by people that are friends with someone in either club.. no randoms.

it certainly isnt a circuitclub day or public open day where you get all manner of noobs and shitkents showing up and acting like theyre in the bathurst 1000 or whatever. ive never seen someone hit someone else at these days.

if it makes you feel any better, im putting my brand new $40,000 86 on the track...
