    Default TPS only 3 wires?

    Hello,

I've bought myself an 4AGE BT 20V and i've completely rebuild it.

Problem is i'm running way too rich and get a tps error when i connect TE1 en E1.

I've noticed that some people have 4 wires on their TPS while mine had only 3 wires. The cut harness that came with the engine also had only 3 wires. I bought another harness and that also had only 3 wires. The IDL wire is missing. I didn't have the IDL wire on my 7AFE as well. I'm running a 6-speed ecu that came with the harness.

    Like to hear your opinions.

    Thanks

blacktop ecus don't have idle circuit wire
sometimes ive seen people cut the power to the tps as it runs thru a big plug
people try to tidy loom up and cut this plug off which has 3 yellow wires and if u cut plug off or if the plug does not have the end on it
    the tps wont have power
find the vc wire its yellow
and join it to yellow wire on tps

Okay, i've wired up al 3 wires from the beginning so that wouldn't be the problem.

The cause is almost certain after this evening. I've measured the primary ignition coil and the resistance is about 0.9-1.0 Ohm. Should be between 0.3x and 0.4x. That would definately explain the rich running.

onnaj, did you take meter's self resistance into account?

If the meter is digital it should do it itself, or if analogue you will be able to "zero" the meter.

inexpensive digital meters (mastech etc etc) will read ~ 0.6 Ohm with their test leads shorted.
