Default Oil Filter/cooler Sandwich plate with Thermostat In-Built

MRP Oil Filter Thermostatic Sandwich plate

Sick of buying those oil cooler relocation kits with no oil thermostat?
    Here is our solution.
    - Thermostat Opening Temp: 80C
    - Ports: 2x 1/8" NPT holes for oil pressure and oil temp sensors
    - 2x block adapters 3/4"-16 unf & M20x1.5 to suit popular models
    - 30mm Thick
    - Billet 6061 CNC Aluminium
    - Oil out fittings -10AN
    - Ideal for getting oil up to temp before it passes through the cooler
    - Can be used with oil filter relocation adapters

How it works, I will try explain it simply.
    - Oil from the engine going into the filter has 2 paths to go. 1. To the oil filter, 2. To the oil cooler.
    - The oil will not pass through the cooler back to this block when the thermostat is cold (closed), the engine will keep pressure in the oil cooler and lines when the thermostat is closed and oil will pass through the filter as normal while the oil temp increases.
    - Once the oil approaches 80C the thermostat will slowly open allowing a smooth transition where it will slowly open the other oil cooler port up to allow the cooled oil to flow back into the filter block which goes up into the oil filter.
    - The other port which oil flows through when cold will slowly get blocked off as the thermostat approaches 80C
    - So at all times there will be oil flowing to the engine.

These look awesome, will they reduce the chance of dry start when the motor is cold and thermostat is closed?
Is the oil cooler portion full flow or does it bleed of a percentage of oil to be cooled?
What thread pitch are the sensor ports?

Yes they will reduce the chance of dry start up due to its design, unlike normal oil filter blocks which dont have a thermostat.

Its full flow once the thermostat is open, as its opening it would be partial flow until 80C is fully reached. I tried to explain it above. Have a read.

You can screw a relocation adapter onto this if you wanted. I dont sell relocation adapters as there are far too many on the market these days.
Very cheap and most of them do work fine.

Is there any expected complications when running these with an oil accumulator Baz?

Nope the accumulator will still deliver oil to the filter. Even with the thermo closed. But it all depends on where you accumulator is tapped into.

I was going to tap the accumulator into the output side of my sandwhich plate before it went into the oil cooler.

Unless theres a better way ofcourse

    Stock filter I would say?
As for fittings, yeah you could easily run o-ring flat face or whatever but whats wrong with JIC fittings?

For this setup yes tapping into the side going back into the engine would work.
You could possibly tap into the inlet of the oil cooler as well. As when the thermo is cold only the inlet port is open, the outlet port is closed.

Takes the OEM filters. All Toyotas are 3/4"-16 Thread.

Yes you can install other AN fittings, the thread is a metric thread in the housing. So metric to NA adapter is required.

The current fittings have 0-rings on them. Personally id run aluminium crush washers.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, I was looking for which Toyota specific oil filters will work. Like the stock 4AGE filter is a Z386 filter, however I run the slightly larger Z432 from the 3SGE because it fits the 4AGE block. I tried a Z553 filter from a 3VZFE which is nearly double the volume, but the seal diameter was 2mm too big for the 4AGE block and under pressure it leaked slightly. If this is a universal sandwedge plate for Toyota motors, I assume the base is wider to support the bigger motors that run bigger filters.

In summary, can I run a Z553 filter on this
