I too read the description and balked a bit, but I'm sure someone could do a better job than no one (is the role filled right now?). With that in mind I may be up for it pending explanation

    Ivandude, Bananaman,

The description is an idealistic description. The main thing is, it is a Co-ordination role. The reality is we haven't had a dedicated IT specialist in that position for a few years that fits that criteria on all levels. The person in that role really just needs to know enough to recognise any issues, or to be the point of contact to make shit happen.

    Cheers

Yep, we have others who we call on when things get difficult. Really it's more of a forum administration type role. Someone who is responsible for that function, not necessarily someone that can count to 10 in binary.

    Hi,

10 in binary or decimal? Decimal 10... which is 1010 in binary, or A in hexadecimal... or 12 in octal. Or do you mean merely 10 binary, which is 2 decimal.

River, tell me again why you are our money man and not the IT geek? Clearly your mathematics abilities have been channeled into the wrong appointment.

A computer geek like you once told me that there are ten types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't. That riddle still plagues me.

    Hi,

I'm nothing at the moment. I renewed my vows to Toymods for another year and lost all my admin rights. So can't do squat...

Just thought I would point out that we have events organised for 5 out of the next 6 weekends. And that doesn't include the AGM this monday night.

Check out the events section for details.

I would love to get more involved with attending events.... but sadly life has got in my way just about every time.
Being a new dad with a wife who tends to work most saturdays will do that.
And also only have one working car in the family doesn't make it much easier.

I would definitely like to attend more this year, but more of the social events rather than the cruises. I dunno, im getting old and stuff and more enjoy sitting with a faggy latte talking shit with friends, or doing something in one location, rather than driving all over the city burning thru expensive fuel. Now that my daily is a Toyota again, i'm hoping to bring it along to Toyfest and other similar car shows, mainly since not many people have an ST246 that isnt white.

Here is my feedback on the 2012 Events, and what I would attend if they were on in 2013.
    • Toyotafest - yes
    • Toyotafest dinner - a bit hard with a baby now (7 months old)
    • Christmas Dinner - as per above
    • Classic Celica Appreciation Day - definitely. Maybe old man river will put a real diff in Trini and i can give it some real beans
    • Dyno day - possibly, just for the sake of intrigue
    • Mothers Product demo day - would be interested in similar product demos, if i were aware of them.
    • NRMA Motorfest - isnt this on Australia day? If so, its a no go for me (anniversary with wife)
    • Shannons Eastern Creek Classic - Once i get the KE70 running, i'd be happy to attend (its already a classic being 1982 build)
    • Al Palmers Toyota show - i heard something about overcharging for cars and servicing.....
    • Toyota Appreciation day at Zen Garage - definitely interested
    • Old School Toyota meet up at Harrys Cafe - maybe
    • Lost race track cruise - cruises not my cup of tea
    • Toyota appreciation days sound good - AGREE

Like has been mentioned by others above, the social media aspect is sadly what is lacking. With everyday life being so "busy" for everyone these days, having to look for what events toymods is doing by trawling thru the forums yourself sadly isnt going to work. You need to shove these events in peoples faces, and get the social networking pushing the event... that way it pops up in people's facebook news feed and shit, and thats how you get people's attention.

Send invites to an event to everyone who's on the toymods facebook page
Push toymods posts onto people's newfeeds.... even with shit like "holy crap look at this - Vito did something to the faildub that DIDNT catch fire!" (attached with pic of relevant non-fire mods)
.... you know, get Toymods in people's faces on the social medias.
Even people getting older and all parentally like myself look at this shit.

Another idea would be to give more prevalent "EVENT REMINDERS" to paid members of the club/forum, through the forums themselves if need be (but in a more visually obvious location).

Basically.... Get some marketing up ya.
    ...... butt scratcher?!
