ive looked at doing it but never got around to it
    seems pretty straight forward
you will prob have to fab engine mounts but if u can use a drill welder and grinder its not hard
    as for sump im unaware
but i do know the ke70 has a cable clutch and i presume the comodore would be hydralic so u would have to put in a hydralic clutch pedal which are resonablely expensive to buy but can be done just need one out of a ae71 with the 4a motor in it
    hope this helps
    cheers scott

    1. Check self into mental health ward. Place Ecotec out the front for roadside junk collection or try and sell it.

    2. From proceeds of ecotec sale get manifold and a pair of 45 DCOE Webber carbs.

    3. Fit manifold and get carbies tuned then enjoy. Perhaps fit a warm cam.

Hell man for the amount of dorking around you are going to have to do you may as well save for a 4AG-ZE and fit that and the cops will hate you

As has been said i would imagine everything needs to be custom made / modified, best way is measure things up as much as you can & then slowly drop the motor in as far as it can go & see what needs chopping & remove the motor & start modifying from there ..

The main thing i can see is that its going to be pretty front heavy & handling's not going to be its best qualities after you have done the mod ..

What do you want to do with the car ??

Also depending on how it comes up you could even loose value on the car, as they are not the best of motors out there, there are a lot of better choices of motors to do the conversion ..

Nothing wrong with the Holden Ecotec Motor.... heaps more powerful than the 4k That's in there I don't see why everybody is complaining. Excellent Upgrade and will have heaps of torque.

Will go great in a KE70 with a Manual box.
Only way you'll really find out how things will go clearance wise is to take a few Measurements, and see how you think it will fit in and whether the shifter will line up.

Get the motor/box on a Crane and begin putting it in then work your way from there and then you'll be able to see how you want the motor to sit and fabricate the mounts to suit.

Everything is custom and no one has done it before
So u have to figure it out yourself

I would have gone sr20 na
    Or even sr16 vvtl

    Anyway drop engine in
    Cut tunnel
    Remake tunnel
    Tailshaft
    Radiator
    Cables hoses linkages
    Ll will be custom
Make sure all is straight and level
Expect to spend a lot of money

seems like a lot of effort for a crappy burnout car....

Isn't that what a KE70 is from the factory Minus burnout.

In all seriousness though you got my tick of approval, I'm keen to see this project, let us know how it goes and what problems you run into.

Could you even get this passed engineering once its all done?

Don't forget the brakes and suspension upgrade as well.
Maybe need to strengthen the front towers etc to cope with the extra weight and torque.

dont worry about other peoples prejudices
about commodore engines , if you have access
to the corolla and c/dore engine , go for it
what harm is there , jealousy perhaps ?

I think this is a great Idea, I looked into doing it to one of my Celica's before I chose 18RGTE route...

I say do it and who gives a flying fuck what people think.
If anyone gives you shit about it being a 'Holden' engine, Say it's a buick engine, because it is!
