If the car is built for racing and the engine will be at higher RPM most of the time, you could get away with just mechcanical advance. If the car is for the street, then you really need the vacuum advance for low RPM cruise mod.

I am putting a twin Webber on my 74 Celica with 2T engine. I was looking at the vacuum advance mechanism on the distributor.
Can the vacuum advance in the dizzy be deleted or is it really necessary. With 2 Webber 40 DCOE Carbies, I'm not after the economical cruise that I'm told that the vacuum gives
Any advice would be appreciated
