I expect it to be a highly polished blingfest then. Looking forward to see the final results on the build you mentioned!

Yes, I have about 400miles on my 9AGE NA with ST head 11:1 comp ratio that's in my 92 four door LE daily driver, still breaking in the engine before I use it for the 100 mile round trips to work. Very impressed with the hill climbing, I am running Megasquirt for engine management MS3 unit with MS3X add on board with knock control. Full seq fuel with COPs for spark. 5 speed supercharged version tranny. Equipment with PS, PB, PW, AC and Cruise.

On hills under cruise control that would take my throttle to 95% ( the max it would go! ) I am now see high 40s to low 50s % at same cruising rpms/speed. That was my goal with this build, I am very happy with this engiine, the one that Toyota SHOULD have built !!!!!!!!!

Neg, still waiting on conrods, bearings and other bling bling, plus i still need to find a BT head, and need to pull some more money out of my arse to actually put the engine together.

Probably wont have my engine done till at least late next year.

We have another guy on the dyno in Aus. He should be nearly done with his final power run.
In the run in tune it was 190hp @6000rpm (flywheel power). Still 3000rpm+ to go!

No dyno anywhere close to where I live, SO all I can do is hill pulls on cruise and see what the throttle position tells me is good or bad, sure would like to see the timing maps off that dyno engine to see if I am going in the right way with timing, hint, hint.

A bit of a thread revival but did a final tune result get communicated?

There is 1 guy in the IPRA who got something like 210whp with our kit.
There are many others who are still in the middle of building.
Another guy went from 160whp to 185whp with no other changes. He just needs bigger cams now to get the most of it and a better flowing head.

We have also finished a prototype head 20v which flows lots and should be capable of holding up to 270hp. The head guy I worked with said it flows the same as the BDA escort engines which make 270hp. So we are putting these into a CNC program to get a whole run of heads done at once.

On my car in turbo form with a stock blacktop head, just a casual 410kw atw @26psi on E85.

Yes i have see your results...insane really

Mine is a blacktop, pretty much stock bar a GReddy piggy back tune to squeeze a little more from it. I have a track day coming up to benchmark it and give me an idea of how much more i'll want. I'll doubt it'll need much so options look to be either a small turbo kit (i have all the bits for that already) or a bigger capacity n/a setup and rev the titts off it

Turbo is the cheap way to get power but it makes the engine bay quite cluttery and you have so many more things to worry about haha.
Thats why im going to NA on my next project car. Keeping it simple.

There is some appeal to returning to my roots of a screaming n/a engine with awesome induction roar....and it does suit the character of the car. Comes down to $$$s as usual of course.

From what i can ascertain the stock 7A bottom end is a pretty good thing, so a set of high comp pistons to suit the Blacktop head (maybe cams?) and there's a 200hp+ engine easy enough?

    NA is expensive first up.
Even the 1600 bottom end you can get 200hp from it with big cams, good intake system, and proper headers.
