    Default Jzz30 1jzgte dump pipes on a mx83

Had a quick search but found nothing.

Does anyone know if custom dump pipes made for a jzz30 1jz will bolt up to a mx83 with a 1jz? I saw a set of those stainless steel ones on eBay us and even with shipping its a lot cheaper. I don't mind if it needs to be slightly modified to fit. I would be cool with that

I realise your question was posted 2 months ago but as others will hit this post when searching the same topic...........

To my knowledge NO ebay dumps have EVER fitted an MX83

That is not to say that you should not purchase EBAY dumps.

All the 1j cars ie jzz30 soarer,jz this,jz that, were the same up the top of the pipes ie the turbos are a set distance apart and the ports are always the same shape SO

any 1jz dumps from anywhere will fit between the turbos provided some quality control is included in the purchase price.[some use 2 factory gaskets, some only one]

the pipes then travel down HOT side of motor and run into the steering axle. Also the engine moves under torque loads and the steering gear does NOT.

So sometimes its worth buying the cheap pipes and chopping them 100mm down and allowing your local exhaust shop to pick up the flow from there, that way they have not had to purchase flanges etc etc etc

as you all most likely know the cats are the most likely flow [horsepower] impediment so run a twin system with two cats, join back to single before or adfter the diff and run the rear muffler in standard posi.BTW cars that dont alter the rear apron to match the exit pipe posi look unfinished.

You need "block hugger" style dumps. The Ebay dumps will hit your steering shaft. Dumps that will fit include:

    MA61+1JZ
    RA6#+1jz
    180SX+1JZ
    S13+1JZ

The dumps in my car (RA60) were in a JZX81, then went into my brothers 180SX (when it still had standard twins), and now live in my RA60.

Soarer dumps do not fit either.

Sorry, my dumps came from this: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...508&highlight= It is a X81, not a JZX90 like I thought. I'll edit my post above.

    So it looks like anything X8 = JZX81, GX81, MX83, etc

I only know of custom made dumps or those you see from MX83s that come up for sale every now and then.

Ok great thanks for clearing that up.

As they are almost impossible to find the suggestion was to buy new dumps if they are cheap [ebay]

fit to engine before it goes into the car.Cut them off in an area where there is a bit of space around the pipes so you can weld flanges on like those in my avatar.

Then the engine can be fitted, the idea being that any decent exhaust shop should be able to fabricate flanged pipes to join up from under the car.

That was how I did my first set [1J MX83] Im not saying its Easy, but it is possible.
