Default R33/BA brake combo conversion in mx83. (brake lines)

Hey guys I just recently bought a brake upgrade for my mx83 and I was wondering wether I should use the standard x8 lines or weather or not get some R33 ones. Also will the standard booster be fine?

Has anyone else done this upgrade before that has any hints or pointers for me?

    Cheers,
    Sambo.

    MX83 brake lines work fine.
The standard booster is also fine.

If anything, replace your old rubber lines with nice new ones. (My local place cost $28 a side)
If you can get them, some nice braided lines would be great.

Turns out After getting the front wheels off for the first time there are 2 lines on each!
Is the second one for abs? And if it's not working already do I just snip and plug it?

I'm putting r33 skyline ones on so the old ones need to come off.
Now there is only one line going into the skyline calipers so I can't just leave it there, it will get caught in the shield and cause big problems. The abs doesn't work as it is after the engine conversion I'm guessing so I'm wondering what other people have done with this as its got me scratching my head as I've never had a car with abs

What second line are you talking about? If its in reference to the ABS as noted earlier, then it should have nothing to do with changing the calipers/discs as it senses a toothed ring on the hub. It should also go no where near the dust shield, nor the brake line go anywhere near it. There are many Cressida's converted with working ABS and no issues.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but i have spent hours searching for my answer and have come up empty handed.

I plan on performing this conversion on the weekend on my recently acquired cressida i have the r33 gtst calipers and BA slotted rotors.

The steel brake lines on the calipers have been cut and i was informed that i need to get new lines made up.

I have had a look at the standard lines on the car and it appears that the brake line thread on the original caliper is much larger then what is on the R33 calipers, will i have to get lines made up? if so what exact combo of lines do i need? Or will the standard lines bolt onto the r33 caliper.

Also i am getting the hub centric spacers made up on the weekend before performing this work

My car is a 1991 cressida grande if this helps.

    Regards,

    Nathan

dunno what you guys are on about i never had to cut any brake lines.

the original lines fitted to the r33 calipers fine and abs works perfectly.

So i should be able to unscrew the line from the standard MX83 caliper and screw directly into the R33 gtst caliper? Im not sure what model or series of r33 the calipers came off and im assuming nissan did not change the calipers in the series 2 r33 gtst.

Just by looking at the lines on my MX83 it appears that the standard end is much larger than what is on the nissan calipers i have...how do i know if i even have r33 gtst calipers?
