Default Celica Supra MA61 Front Pads

    Hello all,
can someone else with a MA61 please tell me if you've had problems ordering front brake pads.

Twice now I've tried to order front pads, and been delivered DB387 instead of DB265 pads, which are on the car.

What pads do other MA61 owners have on thier cars ?

    A bit about myself:

I haven't posted many threads on this forum. I've owned my MA61 for many years now. I've just purchased another Supra, that I'll either restore or use as a pars car.

    Cheers

    Paul

i have had trouble with rear pads but its the same situation as ordering for the fronts

alot of the part numbers accumulated by the brake companies over the years all seem to end up being lumped together with MA61 RA60 RA65 SA63 Celica XX and they dont really differentiate between them

your usual best bet is to go down to the shop with your old pad and match it with their reference books that have the pictures to get the correct part number

(or someone on here can give you a bendix part number as they might know it)

Spot on. The reason for my post was because I asked if they could send me BD265 pads as they are the correct ones for the Supra MA61.
They replied, and basically said I must be wrong, because the one they advertised was in the catalogue.

The pads are so much cheaper to buy online. Maybe I can just ask them to send me the DB265 pads.

I was wondering if anyone else with a MA61 has a different pad then the DB265. Is mine different in some way ? Wouldn't think so, as it's stock

    Hi mate

    Email GSL Rallysport, www.gslrallysport.com

Send them the PN of the pad, and they'll get some custom QFM ones made up for you (if they're not on the shelf).

They're a truly awesome pad for the price, far superior to the 'off the shelf' varieties.

    Paul,

If you want to go down the QFM route, I'm happy to help, being based in QLD....

I also need to get some pads, so this would be a good time to join you and get them...

i have found some correspondence with Greg at gslrallysport when i had my rear pad problem

    Hi Greg

I purchased some brake pads under the invoice 686 and after finally grabbing them off the shelf to put them in the car last night i have found they are the wrong ones.

After doing some investigating turns out there is some sort of global conspiracy towards MA61 supras and that most other manufacturers list the wrong rear pads as well.

The picture of the incorrect rear pads that you sent can be seen here --> http://www.bendix.com.au/catalogue/10070

I have attached a picture of my rear pads to the email and also found a listing on the bendix site of what i think are the correct pads DB290 http://www.bendix.com.au/catalogue/10069

GSL were really good with this problem i had and sorted me out quick smart

EDIT: dont get me wrong, i only used the bendix site as a reference, i dont run bendix pads

I want at least 2 sets of QFM pads, so, once I hear back, will let you guys know, and if they need to be manufactured, we can do a group buy.

We had some total one-offs made, they were roughly $120/pair? Seriously good value for such an awesome pad.
