    Default V8-289 Windsor into a RN85 Hilux fully engineered.

    Finally the conversion is complete and fully legal.

    I started the conversion about 4 long years ago.
    The ute has been fitted with a stout 289 Windsor and is fed by a EB Falcon EFI setup. the front engine dress is from a AU 5.0L.
    The gear box is a tricked up C4. The diff standard G292, but soon will a LSD fitted I just need a set of 3.7 gears.
    The brakes a billet hubs with BA slotted rotors and R32 calipers.
    I have done some interior mods including ADR approved race seats. B&M shifter and SR5 cluster.
    The tray is timber and there is 160 litre drop tank at the back.

    The next mod on my list is an Weiand injected tunnel ram.

    nice looking ute - much better to see them at a sensible ride height instead of slammed with a driver wearing over-sized bucket-hat.

    no plans for turbo? The 1UZ+huffer route equates to epic skids.

    and why the large fuel tank? Would hate to hole it after filling up.

    as above though why the big fuel tank?

    Thanks for the comments.

    The big tank has dual purposes 1 - it looks great & 2- It is a great traction aid. It holds 140 liters of 98 octane. That is about 120kgs when full.
    Costs around $200 to fill.

    I may throw a V trim on it in the near future.

    No plans to carry a spare. Just a can of slime.

    Touchwood, never needed a spare in my 28 years of driving.

    In the process of building a tunnel ram @ the moment. I have a EFI Wieand base and a custom plenum with a 75mm T/B.
    Once it is on I will run it on the dyno to check the tune and the mod the tune on the J3 chip if needed.
    Hope to see around 260rwkw.
    If I go any further with it it will be stroked to 347 the fitted with a V-Trim. We will see.
