should be able to get it to work without them... if you connect the engine light it will probably stay on though...
might need to ground a wire on the ecu to get it to rev cleanly though
Ok guys as some know im putting a 1jz out of a jzz30 into a ra28 celica. My question is do i have to use all those secondary ECUs that are part of the jzz30's loom.
At last count there was about 40 of them!! And frankly i won't be running airbags or 'suspension adjustment' etc etc... Will this work if i don't connect them up? Or will the engine go into a limp mode and be ridden by a million error codes?
Cheers Guys

could i just put a resistor in its place? like one does with airbags to fool ecu
U dont have to ground a wire to make it rev
Just wire it right and your done
Just use engine ecu and fuel pump ecu if u want no codes
hmm fuel pump ecu, where was that located roughly? please don't say in the boot
yes in the boot but do a search theres other ways around it
cheers mate
The engine ECU will be fine without the ABS, TEMS etc wired up.

i have 1st hand witnessed having to do this... otherwise it hit a rev limiter at about 4500rpm...
by wiring it right i left it all plugged in as factory and gave the appropriate pins ignition power as soon as the NSW wire was grounded it revved fine...
but that being said thers more than one way to skin a cat and my wiring elsewhere might have caused the need for this...

maybe some models u need to ground it but ive never had to do it in over 100 1j/2j wiring jobs
its mainly due to nsw and sta being wired wrong when u go manual and ivbe also seen people wire it
wrong in auto form as one wire gets feedback thru the starter motor solenoid wire which can cause issues
