Default 2jzge vvti TPS question NEED HELP

    Hi,

    I have a 2jzge vvti ( jzs155) and ecu # 89661 3A110

Using some Thai ECU pinnouts, the only ones I can find, I got the engine running, but I have an issue hooking up the TPS properly
on the ecu pinnout there are the following pins: VTA, VC, E2 and what seems wierd, PSW
I thought PSW was only for older model TPS.....and it should have an IDL pin....but there is no IDL on the diagram.....
    any thoughts... very confusing
    I am getting a Code 41 (TPS)...
also, going from idle to quick throttle.....it bogs.....think its because its not getting proper TPS signal
    thanks for any help

is there trc butterfly as well?

    main tps is 4 pin
4 bl-y power - to vc (ecu R1 on my diagram)
    3 y-g output - to vta (r7)
    2 blank
    1 ground from ecu (brown, e2, r22)

"r" connector has 22 pins in it

p/s I once installed JZS155 engine which initially had ECU connector issue, so VTA pin had loose connection. Symptoms were occasional loss of driveability along with 42 code

Engine conversion is when you drive a shitbox which costs a whole LEXUS to own

This was really helpful, thanks.....so basically, the IDL pin of the 4 Pin TPS is left blank.....
Do you have a part number for the Proper TPS? I would appreciate it,
    thanks,
    C.

Yes it's blank. Though on trac butterfly it's utilized somehow (both use the same sensor type). Since both (if JZS155 came with TRC) are fed into engine ECU it's advisable to check each of them.
    p/n is
    89452-22090 for 1995-97
    89452-30150 for 1997 on

this one shows your connector, when viewed from terminal side

p/s different production years result in different diagrams, no wonder you see tons of them

sorry, by Terminal side, do you mean the side with the terminals, not the sensor with the pins
or do u mean the sensor? (am I looking at the sensor or the connector?)

Can you link / post to a copy of the wiring diagram that you are using?

That ones that I have seen don't have a PSW pin related to the TPS... (image hosted by Takai )

    Similar to what George said,
TPS Pin 1 -> Engine ECU Pin E2 (Pin 22 of the 22 pin Plug)
TPS Pin 2 -> Cruise Control ECU Pin IDL (Pin 21)
TPS Pin 3 -> Engine ECU Pin VTA (Pin 7 of the 22 pin Plug)
TPS Pin 4 -> Engine ECU Pin VC (Pin 1 of the 22 pin Plug)

Looking at the plug side (which has the female pins), with the 'clip' at the top, pin 1 is on the left. (as shown on the plugs marked ( S ) and (T ) at the bottom of the wiring diagram that I posted)

chris78 on all Toyota diagrams it's accepted that pinouts are shown for loom connectors, when seen from mating part (one that connects to sensor). Repair manuals may differ though, fyi

so my picture shows loom connector and its wires are "behind" your monitor )))
