Default AE82 Manual ---> Power steering conversion ease

Hi just wondering since I don't have acess to an AE82 how easy the rack/power steer is to change over from manual to power. Apart from the usual removal of rack and fitting of the power steer pump is there anything strange I should know about that could bite me in the arse when doing it, such as something stupid like steering colum been different etc? or a major relocation of braketry with the power steer models. I can get down to the wreckers at the end of the week to see myself, I was just hopeing someone might be able to tell me now so i can plan for it. The car doesn't have aircon either if that makes a diff. (accessory drive pulley?)

Thanks in advance for any help and pointers.

Don't know about AE82, but the column on my AE92 non-ps was the same as the ps column, just had to change over everything including the first uni joint.

I'd recommend leaving the system sealed if possible and transplanting the rack, lines, pump and reservoir together. Avoids a sticky mess

About a week & a half ago there was a complete setup in an AE82 twin cam at pick & payless in Ringwood VIC if that helps.

I've got a complete setup that I'm about to take off a wrecked Twincam hatch conversion if you are interested. Also have the 4AC pump/reservoir from before the 4AGE conversion. Steering column is different which means you'll need a key for the different ignition lock or else swap your ignition lock over as well.
So you need column, rack, steering knuckle, pump, bracket, belt, crankshaft pulley (twin pulley), reservoir, flexible and fixed fluid pipes.
