Default seat belt help needed for a JDM import

the drivers side seatbelt in my 94 JDM Crown is knackered, does not retract, and I need a new one for a pinkie. I have for the last few weeks been searching importmonster for one but to no avail...A new one via Amayama is the better part of $600 - and even then they can't guarantee that it is the correct one (apparently the catalogues for this car is very confusing) I don't really want to shell out that much especially since they can't guarantee that it will fit, and they take no refunds.

Anyone got any other ideas of how I might be able to get around this? I know there are some places in Aus who make seat belts but I am guessing that the cost of that might be more than a new one from Amayama?

    I'm in sydney,

    Help appreciated.

Klippan will make a seatbelt from sample, that will take some time though. Repco is a klipan agent and if you get someone smart behind the counter they can arrange this for you. Try a store that alot of tradies use, the people in there are alot more helpful/knowledgeable

thanks for the replys guys, I have been scouring Importmonster for the past few weeks, but unfortunately no front drivers side seatbelts available, I did see those rear belts tho. Have sent through a request to Klippan, just waiting for a reply. Rang seatbelt solutions..they want me to send in pics of the seatbelt they think they should be able to put it on another reel - except its going to mean playing around with the wiring which makes the seat belt light go out (or just remove the seat belt bulb from the dash - the car is non air bag)

Anyway will hopefully be able to sort something out soon with it.

    Cheers

Pull it apart and see whats wrong with it? the one in my AW11 started playing up and it was a simple fix (metal weight had fallen off its seat)

Isn't the switch for the seat-belt warning light traditionally in the buckle, not the reel?

PM us your vin and model number and vehicle details from the data plate under the bonnet (a photo of the plate would be ideal). I'll be able to cross reference it and give you a Toyota part number, and let you know if it cross references to any other models.
