    Default TA22 2TG Remove motor with gearbox or without gearbox?

    Can I remove the motor without the gearbox?
    1974 Celica TA22
    2TG Motor
    5 speed box

    You definitely can, but you will need to support the Gearbox after you have removed the motor and the top two bolts are a PITA to undo/tighten.

    Yeah piece of piss, just make sure you take the Gb cross member off and if you have one of those balance bar thingos you can put on the engine hoist to lean the engine on an angle it will be a heap easier too.

    its easier to remove engine and gearbox together.... MUUUUCH easier.

    In my RA28, i had it down to a 90 minute job from drive into garage to engine/gearbox out of car and separated (18RG + W58 box)
    ...... butt scratcher?!

    Pulling the motor without the gearbox is easy as,
    Top bolts are a bitch to get at but a couple of long extensions and a knuckle joint normally do the job, can have the motor out in a little over an hour
