Default changing thread title in member's rides

I have seen a thread on this before but couldnt find it (and its annoying to look for threads when you dont know what to search for).

Why cant I do it now? Because I could previously change it. Eg. When I started on Toymods, my thread was called "Sillycar chick's TA22", then when I put the hybrid in I changed it to "Sillycar chick's TA22 - The Hybrid is IN!!!" and now I wanna change it to something more appropriate and I cant!!

Can someone PLEASE (thats a bit polite please) fix this, I am sure everyone is sick of seeing the old news that the Hybrid is in!!

it appears you can't click on the title and change it so you would need to email a mod to change it for you

What does it do when you double click on the thread when viewing all of the threads in the members rides section?

I just created a users with the same rights as yours and was able to rename threads I created repeatedly with no issues.

Is anyone else having this problem?

It doesnt do anything except put a tiny "highlight" mark right after the name sillycar chick under the title.... it doesnt allow me to change it, but i have been able to in the past.

If it's a thread you created then double clicking on the title bar of the thread in the thread listing should allow you to change the name of the thread.

This is one of the things that we had some issues with initially with VB, by default you can't rename threads in VB and we had to enable an option to keep the titles active forever. This apparently adds to server overhead and was a bit of a worry but so far didn't seem to be causing any problems.

I'll see if there is any updates to change this behaviour. I'm sure there are threads that have been going longer than this one that have been renamed though.

el presedente, its only that particular thread that wont work, I have discovered. I created another thread in the members rides for another car and I can change the title in that one, I just cant change it in my "Sillycar Chick's TA22 - The hybrid is IN!!!" thread. Is there anyway you can fix this for me? Cheers...

I Don't know if it will work but what if you opened up the thread and edited your first post.
I'm pretty sure you can edit the title in that bit????
Might be completely wrong tho, just thought it was worth a shot.

Nah I just tried that Kirsty, it just changes the title of the first post and not the rest or the thread title as displayed in teh thread list. Someone has changed the title for me but... Im guess el presedente...

Am I ever going to be able to change it myself at my own discretion, or is it just screwed meaning I need to ask a mod everytime I want to change it??

    Hi,

Yes, I'm having the same problem. I want to rename a couple of threads I started.

I went and edited my first post in each thread and it saved the new title when I did a preview, but when I save it it still has the old title in the forums.

Any update on this? Is it a system issue or a river issue?

Maybe just message the mods with what you want changed and they can do just about anything at the chick of a button

As Josh said it looks like a clitch in the software that I guess cannot be recitified yet

It would appear its only in some sections? I've been changing the title on an events thread by just editing my 1st post, done it a few times in the last couple of weeks.
