    Default Wastegate choices?

Guys I got a 1jzgte planning on running around 20psi through a precision 5857 turbo, what wastegate would u tend to run with this setup?

I was told to go for a turbosmart 45mm hypergate.

    Agree?? Disagree?

i just bought a turbosmart compgate 40 for my 18RGTE.... its nice and small, comes with flanges and V-band clamps, and its easy to adjust the air ports to various positions to work with whatever manifold design you have.
I've also heard good things about the new Tial gates with water cooling.

I'd stick with tial or turbosmart. Both are good.

As for what size, at a guess i would say 45mm is OK, but I would leave that answer to someone more experienced with 1JZ's to advise.

I'd stick with TUrbosmart or Tial for sure. 45mm will be sufficient for your requirements.

FYI - you can get both turbosmart and Tial gates on ebay quite cheap these days. I paid just $335 for my CompGate 40mm.

Or... the Tial MVR44 is also quite cheap for you.

45mm will be more than enough to push 20psi through a 1j. I'd agree with turbosmart/tial as good choices - currently running a turbosmart 48mm on my 18psi 2j (and have been for 3 years) with no issues at all.
