    Default Wiring 1uzfe into RA28?

    Hey Folks,

I bought my RA29 here in Canada (well actually bought it from Arizona USA, and imported it here because there is NO rust! down there) This car truly is amazing, underneath this RA29 is so clean, it looks practically new, the interior is completely beat though...I guess the sun is too hot down there.

    anyhow, I also bought:
    - a used 93 1uzfe (ECU, complete uncut Harness, afm, and everything connected to the harness ie: igniters, coils, etc..)
    - W58 Tranny
    - AE86 cross member & power steering (info provided by Sheepers on here)...excellent build by the way!
    - 900hp rods (I don't plan on pushing this any higher than 300-350hp)

so I looked everywhere to try and find information on wiring this engine into this car, but couldn't find any step by step instructions of any kind.

Does anyone have info on this, since it seems this swap is so commonly done in Aus?
Do I need to keep my existing ECU to run the other components in my car?

    anything would be greatly appreciated
    thanks!

AFAIK there are no step by step instructions anywhere.
It's not a common conversion, so there isn't a "standard" method.
You'll have to get wiring diagrams for each and work it out yourself, or get a good auto elec to do it for you.

You may want to run your engine stock for the first time, just to ensure it has no problems before you start upgrading it. Replacing auto with manual is not an issue even with stock ecu. Tell me how many connectors ecu has and what's the number of pins in each and I'll see if I have any diagrams for you.

just because its in a ra28 the wiring is nothing special
just wire it like a stand alone then wire it to yr ra28

if u try to just find info for wiring to an ra28 then u just complicate things

With basic knowledge of wiring this is quite straightforward.

In my opinion, and others may contradict me, the best way is to:

Remove all engine-specific wiring (eg. coil) from your car but leave all the car wiring in there (eg. headlights, wipers, indicators, etc).
Once done, check that all of your lights etc still work - if not this is a good opportunity to sort it out before you have the new engine wiring in there as well.
Then, take the complete 1UZ engine loom & ECU, lay it out on the floor as neatly as possible and remove all the heatshrink/tape/etc from it.
Then, remove any "accessory" wires that are not required. You will be surprised how much unnecessary shizzle is in late model cars compared to your RA29 (which is part of why late model cars are so damn heavy).
You can remove even more stuff if you don't intend to run power steering or air conditioning.
Once stripped back, you can use the remains of this engine loom through the firewall and use all the factory 1UZ connections so you haven't really done much actual wiring yet and you're 90% done.
Then all you really need to do is drop a dozen basic connections across it (power, earth, starter, etc), connect your battery etc.
You can decide if you want to run your standard fusebox plus a few extras (eg. EFI fuses, fuel pump relay, etc), a whole new aftermarket fusebox, or the 1UZ fusebox.

Bit of a mud map but you get the idea.
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....

throw all the 1uz fuses and relays out
wire up new ones under the dash
hook up 7 wires and your done
