Default 1JZ timing belt keep slipping off

    G'day guys,

Need some help from you experienced toymoders.
Recently I did the timing belt on my 1jz non vvti, change waterpump to non hydro fan and replaced cam seals and crank seal, new timing belt and ilder tension pulley.

That is 2 weeks ago, I have been driving around since. Today I decided to play around the the cam gears, upon removing the top timing belt cover. The timing belt was on the edge of the cam gears. It was sliding off and the belt was grinding off the lower timing belt cover.
I remove everything and get to the timing belt. Now I have double checked everything. I took the timing belt off today 3-4 times and re-did everything. Tighten all the nuts and bolts. I cant find the problem and my timing belt keep walking off. The belt will come off if I crank it for about 3-5 sec

what could the the problem? engine damage? or something I didnt do?
the only thing I could think of is the tensioner, I didn't replaced it because When I push it down hard, it bearly move so I asume the tension is still good.
What should I tried next? I want to buy another tension idler pulley just to test if that was the problem cos I throw away my old one.

    Any ideas? I am confused

    thank you in advance

forget to put a guide back on ?
usually one between the bottom pulley and balancer? unsure on a 1/2 j motor though.

Yes they do as I just did a timing belt on my motor.

Here are the part numbers and they arent that expensive (~$4 from Amayama and mayble a little more from Aus if it means you get it sooner).

11324-46030 and 91631-60616 for the bolt

I have the part on. It does not touch the timing belt though?
With that part you circle in red there in place, I can still slide the timing belt on and off.

from this picture! I see that it does not stop the belt slipping off the cog at all?
or did I messed up somewhere?

Do you have this between the crank drive and the harmonic balancer?
This is what stops the belt from slipping off.

yeah you need that disk, its a concave faced disk that aligns the timing belt onto the crank cog, from there, it'll line the whole lot up.

not to be confused with the star shaped disk at the back, the post above mine, its the one on the right, put it on the belt with the concave lip facing away from the belt.

Also make sure you put the washer behind the timing belt tensioner is still there as i have seen this left off causing a similar problem.

as soon as i read this post the disc thing that mr1jz posted was the first thing that came to mind make sure you face the curving out side towards you, not inwards, otherwise it will rub the belt!
