    Default tyre pressure sensors

Anyone have any experience with the tyre pressure sensors you screw onto your valve stem? I have looked at the type that replace your stem and they are pretty smick....with multiple sets of track wheels these aren't practical.

Repco have a sale on with a set that screw onto the valve stem and they look better than anything of that style i've seen before. Real time tyre pressure would be handy i think for dialing the car in?

    hey mate,

I looked into these for a friend at work who trashed a couple low profile tyres in short succession cos she didnt notice they were low....

There was alot of pretty negative feedback - but it was mostly from 4x4 people (explore oz) mostly around durability, and connectivity issues with the monitoring unit.

I like the idea, but havent bothered for any of my toys....

    Cheers

Ta mate. A lot of negative feedback doesn't sound promising. It's a bit of a luxury anyways, so anything less than 'bloody excellent' feedback probably means it's not worth the effort/coin.

hahah yeah much my theory - i thought about them for my boat and offroad box trailer etc...

But at around $300 the chance they might not work that well put me off as well - easy to do with a decent tyre guage...

Now My STAUN tyre deflators for my patrol are a different story... they are great

yeah we had a few customers with in the 4x4 area use them they noticed that the main unit wouldnt always keep connected to all 4 wheels and it would just show the last known pressure it had for that wheel etc. so wouldnt really let them know that they were going flat.
