    Default 2azfe crank in 3sgte

    Does a 2azfe crank fit in a 3sgte?

    I'd hazard a guess that it doesn't.

Being different engine series and the fact that the stroke on the 2az is longer id say youd have trouble and thats not even taking into account bearing sizes or the piston separation or anything.

    you might be surprised

start by checking the bore spacing.. if that is different, you have no chance.. at all...

    2AZ bore = 88.5, 3S bore = 86,
2AZ has 10mm more stroke (5mm each way)

given that the newer 2AZ motor probably has thinner bore walls... it might be close....

    find headgaskets, compare
    find bearing sizes, compare
(if bigger they could be turned down, if smaller.. custom rods, if mains are smaller... forget it)
find two cranks, measure em up...

or it could be a stupid idea

Ace and Eldaro, if it does work, you're gonna look silly at least it'S something new to try (until it doesn't work )

edit:.. but yes.. chances are slim .. but stranger conversions have been done before

Alright say it did fit in the 3sgte, what would the advantages be?

10mm more stroke sounds like the "advantage". You'd get about 12% more capacity once the engine is built to suit.

but wouldn't the 5sfe crank be an easier swap? although only a 10% increase in capacity.

It sure would be. you won't get as much stroke but you know it fits in the block.

The 4Y crank is not an uncommon swap into a 3T block, clearancing/mods required though. Have even seen picks of a 2TG head on a Y block.

bahahah, that has what to do with what i said?!

nissan and toyota are completely different to holden and ford, as holden and ford seem to be lagging 6 decades behind any japanese company to date.

even so, ford and holden have both gone in the same direction with their products, similar technology, nissan and toyota, well, i think they speak for themselves.

so no, no lolzor at me.
