Default How to remove TA22 sill trim?

I need to remove the sill trim on my TA22 to take off the guard and not sure how to do it without breaking the plastic clips. My other car has this trim screwed on but I assume that it has been taken off previously and screws used instead of the clips.

    Any tips?

^^^^ very true, the plastic things that hold it on are irreplaceable, look at each end of the metal trim and see if you can slide it off, or be extremely careful and force it off, but dont wreck the pins, if you do happen to break them, extremely strong double sided tape is your friend

I was able to purchase replacement clips from Toyota a few years ago. Problem is they are old stock, and when I needed to remove the trim piece again 12 months later, the new festers broke.

To remove the trim, slide a plastic bondo applicator between the trim and the sill, give the applicator a twist, and the clip will either pop or break.

To re attach, use half a dozen dabs of Sikaflex Urethane on the trim bits, then tape the trims to the car. Clean up any squeeze out with some kero on a cloth. Wait the appropriate drying time and remove the masking tape.

    cheers Chuck.
