Forum Upgrade Time

The search function seems to miss a huge chunk of results, its like posts from between somewhere around end of 2007 and mid 2010 haven't been archived/indexed or something. (Note these dates are just guesstimates from searching posts made by me)

I do appreciate all the work that has gone into the forum upgrade so please don't take this as criticism!

It's the only real thing I notice wrong with the site at this point, all in all quite happy now I'm getting more used to the look and feel of it all.

I'm looking at the Search issue, and have been for a few days, it appears that the forums are too big for vB4 to re index, so it is indexing up to about 400,000 posts then timing out.

I'm going to try manually reindexing again overnight to see if it goes all the way.

OK I've set off the Search function reindexing with the boards closed and it has gone thru about 2/3 of the indexing without issue.

This took a little longer than I expected, so I have turned the forums Back on as the load on the server isn't great on a Saturday.

Going on current trend the indexing should be complete around 3-4pm this afternoon. However the preformance of the forums maybe sluggish until the indexing is complete.

I'll be re checking the status of the indexing around that time to make sure it completed.
