No idea Stomps, is the boot sealed from cabin? (they dont usually inspect that in depth, may be an issue if they can see the fuel system through the window though)

Maybe push car through scrutineering and hope for the best hahah. unless its ridiculously loud it should be ok i think...

Also for everyone, please take note of the new helmet rules, i have updated the first post with a sample image of the sticker they will be looking for. it looks like they are not allowing approved snell2005 motorbike helmets to be used in cars now (have to use snell sa2005) which means i need to get a helmet also, much ghey. (note if your helmet is approved to AS/NZS1698 you can use it on either bikes or cars)

Haha, you haven't heard it before have you... even the guys at WTF think its too loud. I thought it was too loud when Tristan moved it while I was there once, and it wouldnt of gone above like 1500rpm haha

As for fuel system, if its not visible, just don't tell them about it. Its up to them to find it not you tell them!

yeah... the rules are a bit hazy there... it says the cars are supposed to be roadworthy - yet they will allow unlicensed and yellow sticker cars to run (normally meaning they are unroadworthy)
cars are often yellow stickered cos they are too loud, but yet they want you to have a muffler

Take your chances Stomps... they might say you can't run, it which case, you will get your money back and you can just stay down there and cheer the rest of us on

They just check basic shit like battery secure, not leaking any fluids, steering play, etc

I passed scrut. with the bunky no probs, they just warned me about not having door trims

I will come down for a look as i dont expect to have the car back on the road by then (yeah im slow...)

the main issues i can see is the fuel system and batter in boot...

the battery is in a box.. but the strap is broken... the fuel system (surge tank and pump) are also in the boot... and the cabin is currently not seperated from the boot... but a piece of MDF should fix that easy enough... (for now)

the loudness shouldnt really be a problem... unless they are total ****s..

Had a chat with Tristan... seems like my final tune will be finished for sure by then..

which means ill get to see how a circa 500rwhp soarer goes at the strip with 16kg rear springs and a welded diff... at least ill know it will rip a good skid..

I have nothing I can run, or won't get me in trouble running, so I'll plan to come down as a spectator and support the TECCWA crew.

If someone's stuck, they can borrow (on the night) my open face helmet if they're stuck for one. I just expect it to be looked after and returned at the end of the night.

I didn't have a problem running SPIDA with fuel tank, pump, etc. in boot, along with battery there in a secured box (repair your strap if it's broken).

Hmmmmm, you'd like to see a very "sedate" VC Commodore 4 cylinder "miss-fire" put up a time hey?

Would be quite funny - and a bit of a stir to the Commo-crews to put it up against a real fast 4!
