Yeah... the merc tunnels are narrow/short, that was my biggest annoyance trying to get the gearbox in the best position for the shaft and indirectly the exhaust, and to have good ground clearance.

Ahh... so it's going to be a 2-piece with slip yoke in the middle?

C200, was a 2ltr 4 cyl NA. Diff will just be factory to start with, and maybe a R200 or similar grafted in down the track.

Haven't created any members rides posts or anything yet.

It's not a perfect swap but it was all done at home (except for IC welding and IC pipes).

It's been going strong for the last 5 years. Can't believe I've had it for that long.

Here's some photos of the exhaust (pre then post cat install):

Don't listen to americans when it comes to buying tyre dimensions, and then run said tyres with too much camber (pre-camber adjustment kit). I think another part of the reason I destroyed the tyres was with the auto ECU. at every gearchange, I could feel backlash. changed to manual ecu (and later PowerFC) and no more excessive wear:

Eventually my driveshaft "failed". Took apart the uni-joint and found this:

    Progress

Keen eye will noticed the modified factory air box. It has a huge filter element. It is getting another entry point underneath also to help with flow. Factory 2.5" outlet removed and replaced with a 4"

Not too much big stuff to go now , plenty of small jobs once she gets home.

This comes home tomorrow with 90% of the fab work done. Not too much to go now. Will update with more pics shortly.

Just starting to pull it all down now for the final time. Have to ceramic coat/clean paint everything-then final assy.

3.5" Dump pipe. thinking i need to put some flex tubing in the wastegate pipe-otherwise it may warp out of aligment after a few hot runs and never go back together as planned....

The merc diff had a small rubber coupling on it's input, which was never going to hold up to the new power. So i had the tripod machined off, and a new section grafted on to suit a BA falcon rear CV. This way i'll run a 1310 front uni, and commdore centre bearing/CV. I now only have 1 angle to align, and will have the best chance of a smooth drivetrain..

Hopefully if the weather clears up, i'll have it started tomorrow.

    New front brakes in progress.

Merc rotors from a ML 4wd, twin spot front calipers. 330mm x32mm thick. Should be much better than the factory 284x22mm single spots.

Things are getting done up for the last time now with gaskets etc . I need to get some black silicon hose.

Love it when you start and job, and everything falls into place.

Front brembo's mounted 100%, pad wear sensors in/connected, brake lines done! Will bleed them tomorrow.

    New Bilsteins fitted also

Plenty of clearance with the factory 18" mono blocks!!

Now i just need to figure out why it won't start

This drove under it's own power for the first time today -Just up and down the driveway. Still a heap of little jobs to do, but it is certainly nice to drive it for the first time after so many hours of work.

Bilsteins are in, and front is lowered, still need to drop the rear. Hope the front will settle approx 10mm lower with time.
