    Default ToyoFest 2006

This is not an official thread, but a small one inquiring about what is planned for ToyoFest 2006.

The Metro and I are planning on bringing two separate cars over for that weekend.

We would have preferred to go to the Nats, but the financial situation doesn't look as good in April as it will hopefully look in October.

    So, what weekend is it?
    What is planned exactly?

Its the October long weekend. Looks as though it will be October 1st this year.

    Hey Cruzida

The show will be on the Sunday long weekend in October. This year it will be basically the same format as last so it will be a single day static display of a bunch of awesome Toyota's and an opportunity to hang out with a heap of other Toyota Enthusiasts.

As much as I love our show for the quality of cars and people we get there, and as much as I'm going to sound like a traitor for saying this. I don't think there is value there for you in driving from one side of the country to the other just for Toyota Fest. Admittedly I'm sure there would be a hell of a lot of visiting of mates while you're over here and we'd love to see you at the show, I just personally think you'd be better off at a longer event.

Then we need to organise some extra stuff then don't we. Perhaps a Toymods night at the drags, perhaps even organise a dyno day on the Saturday? It's not like we don't have time to plan. Dinner with the crew would be good too.

    Thats what I'm talking about!

I'm not too fused about it being purely a car weekend, more of a social thing.

We could either flog straight over there in a few days, have 5-6 days in NSW, then take our time coming back.
Or take out time getting there, have 5-6 days in NSW, and then flog it back.

Depending on how we do it, we'll hopefully be there for one wednesday night @ WSID.

    Sounds good

Dinner should be reasonably easy to organise. A trip to the drags is always a good thing, mind you I think you guys are already a bit spoilt with the facility's over west but WSID is a pretty good venue.

A dyno day would be very unlikely. There's a lot of work goes into organising and running Toyotafest, especially if you decide to pull an all nighter to get a brand new engine running to drive to the show , so I wouldn't expect anyone on the board to have additional time to dedicate to organising another event for the same weekend.

As I said though it would be great to see you guys there and I might even get to speak to you for more than the 5 minutes I managed at Dubbo last time.

Haha, indeed we did. When BVD mistook you for the other Josh. That was a good weekend.

Dinner sounds good. Drags will be fun, sure we have a good facility, but it's the people that make a night. Would give good amount of time for Witzl to build that much touted 18RGTE

Either way, it's a couple of days each way. I'm still keen to go, would be good to catch up with you easties

I think a sunday night dinner after the show is a good idea, then follow it up with the drags that wednesday night. That keeps it simple, organised, and easy to arrange
    I like it.

And yes, it does give me some time to finish off that 18R-GTE. Lots of time

    I vote the Lowenbrau Keller.

At this stage I don't care where you guys want to go, I'll be there.

Well. You know what you have to do, the challenge has been set. I expect it to kick my ass at the drags too...so I have more motivation to hurt my credit card and buy stuff.
