Signature Character Limit

Hi guys,

Just wondering if there's any reason that our signatures are limited as per below:

The following errors occurred with your submission:
Your signature cannot be longer than 600 characters including BB code markup.

My 1 line sig had to be truncated because it was too long, and now i want to add something...

It would be nice to think that so long as the on screen display didn't breach the 5 line rule, then the formatting wouldn't contribute to the length...

Any revisions on this rule would be greatly appreciated.... please?

using less colours would drop the characters...

Understand...

But that's half the problem... the BB code uses up far more characters then what is actually visible in my sig... hardly makes sense...

My sig has 114 characters, but almost 600 with BB code...

Your links also take up a whole lot of your limit... you could use tinyurl or something similar to bring the number down a bit. its what i did with mine.

Nice suggestion... Doesn't entirely solve the problem... but it'll do until I add something else to my sig...
