    Default electric fuel pump placement

hi everyone. i just bought an electric fuel pump to put into my suzuki van

the van is a tiny 1ltr 4cyl. i just have a question about the placement of the fuel pump

the instructions say dont place the pump higher then 30cm from the tank. but how far away from the tank can i place the pump? i'm trying to get away with out having to cut the metal fuel line.

will the pump still go fine if its say 70 - 80 cm away from the tank but at the same height?

    thanks for any information

the futher and higher it is, the more likely you are to get vapour lock when it is hot, and the pump not pump anything, although diaphragm pumps can overcome that eventually.

the metal hardline under the car goes directly into the tank with no rubber line?

yep OC metal line goes straight into the tank. then half way up the underside of the car goes to rubber which goes to the carby.
