I would agree that one should live within one's means, however the advantage of having something of a Toymods Mobile site is that the data transfer occurs quicker. Not a problem at home when I am hooked on at 1.5Mbps, however when I am out west with a Telecom PreviousG connection which has little connectivity, the data rate is so slow, I just don't bother. For somebody who travels regularly enough for work to remote places, this is an issue.

If the advertising 'banner' became some bold text, with a web link and/or a phone number, that should work fine for the advertisers, and not be intrusive on anyone's data rates.

So for me, it is the bandwidth which a mobile site would help, as there is about a 0% chance that Telstra is going to install more towers so people like me can access their favourite forums.

Ok, so whilst broswing for some semi slicks over the weekend using the mobile, I had a look at the Nissan Silvia forums and they have a 'lite' version of there forums.

I now, whole-heartedly, agree with a Toymods Lite as it was so much easier to use the forum without zooming in to select the correct link, etc.

I suggest we get the website proper stable before looking at any further development.

Ha, yeah what happened over the weekend?

I hear what everyone is saying, Toymods actually works really well on my iPhone, all the pop-out menus etc work fine. Which is surprising as many websites don't.
I also have unlimited data so no probs there.
My problem is the speed to load pages, especially if someone has linked an image (if only you could turn of images on the iPhone). Also the size of text and zooming to click links but maybe I just need a new prescription for my glasses or something...

This topic was bought up at the last board meeting, and a lite version of Toymods is now on my list of things to look Into.

Takai I'd be interested in any findings that you have in this regard.
