    Default Beams 3SGE questions

Hi there. I recently got hold of an altezza beams 3SGE with a Toda 2.2L low compression stroker kit in it, farkin stoked. I was planning on using the normal Toda forged pistons and heading down the turdbro road, but this came up for sale and was too good a deal to pass up. The plan is a responsive ~350 rwhp for the KE35, for street and a bit of track action. Car has been prepped with hilux diff skyline gtr brakes etc etc.

Only catch is, its from an auto altezza, meaning smaller valves (I think?), heavier valve springs and one less bearing on the exhaust camshaft. So first question, for people that know a bit more about these engines:

    1) Is it worth me hanging on to the stock auto head, or should I go for the higher performance (by how much?) manual head, and if so should I be fiddling with cams, porting etc?

On the intake side of things, the engine didn't come with the drive by wire throttle body, and I've been offered some quads for cheap and have access to a cnc machine to make the adapter. Sooo...

    2) Should I bother with the quads or just go for a generic aftermarket tb?

On the exhaust side of things, I've been doing sums and looking at compressor maps etc and so far like the look of a garrett GT3076r. Given the extra displacement and the ~350rwhp goal,

    3) Will the GT3076r (or something similar but cheaper) be ideally sized, given that I'm after something pretty responsive?

Thanks for reading, any advice would be very much appreciated.

Don't sorry about the manual head. Any extra flow you can get from the manual one can be covered simply by using about 1 psi more boost.
Don't bother with quad throttles, a single 60mm one is plenty big enough.

Cheers Bill. Would the rev limit be reduced by the heavier valvetrain? And do you think that the quads would not contribute much to the responsiveness of the engine?

The auto engine does have a lower rev limit - about 7200rpm I think - but I wouldn't worry too much about that and just build the engine so it works with the slightly lower revs.
The quad throttle might help a little, but not for that much extra expense.
