    Default ke70 rear diff help

    hello
i own a daihatsu charmant a35. witch is a ke70 with some external change
it has a 4age conversion and gearbox, thought the rear diff was left stock
i recently got it welded. and have put it some normal semi-syn oil in .
now i ran with it two month without any problem
last week i went to a track day to drift.
and the day. i went back home and two days later i notice a wiining noise coming from the diff.
i have opened it yet but were guessing its the corona and pinion worn and making the wiining noise.
any way i was wondering if is it some kind of sickness of that diff. anyone else got that problem. i probably can fix it . adjusting again the diff the the pinion . but will it happen again
do i need to put some high grade fully syn oil ?
    thanks for the help/

You might br better off shortening a Hilux housing and running a G series diff because it will be a lot stronger than the little corolla diff. There are a lot of parts available for the G series hilux diff like full spools, auto lockers and air lockers. You can even get a torsen LSD centre for them but don't use a Hilux LSD which are clutch type because they won't last long as aLSD when you put a lot of strain on them. they normally end up being not much better than an open centre.

Yeah i agree with dazza best way to go is putting a hilux diff into it you should'nt have a problem for a very long time.

As for your old diff the wining noise could be a bearing problem but the fact you've welded it it'll proably be the crown a pinion and theonly way to fix it is to replace it which will be pretty expensive, welded diffs are fun but they do'nt last long enough.
