They are only there to keep the springs captive when unloaded, if they are captive without them then you don't need them. Usually only needed when either your shocks are too long or the springs are very stiff.

So after lowering all the spring perches last night, i noticed that my front passenger side helper spring is kaput/fux0red. Its compressed right down and wont bounce back to normal..
So... Is it a major drama if i completely remove the Helper springs at all? CoFF33 says no, they're useless... Guy at Fulcrum says they're there for a reason so the springs position is static... I told him my Cusco's dont have helper springs and he said probably a different design (but seriously how different could it be? Both have springs.. Both are height adjustable platform coilovers..)
So replace or piss them off? Verdict?

oh so basically if i raise spring perch back up, and wind down top nut more.. so long as theyre completely captive out of the car ill be right as rain? perfect.. in that case out they come!
