    Question Supercharging 1GGE with the 1GGZE parts - Q&A

    Hey guys

    Im new here

I got a Celica-Supra MKII with a 1GGE engine I have just installed. Looking for that extra bit of power so I thought getting a supercharger might be the way to go.

Story is, Im getting everything required to get the supercharger run from a 1ggze engine including brackets looms and ecu.

My main question is What if any problems may i run into?

    Cheers

    jake

1gge is higher compression being a NA motor, unless you decompress it, its life will be considerablly shortened and more than likely blow easily with the added stress of being forcefed.
You also will require a 1ggze cas (crank angle sensor), unknown if this can be used in 1gge (more than likely it can as 1ggte/1ggze you can interchange.
Fueling will be for the 1ggze so it will react to running on the 1gge, unknown
ISCV/throttle body will be different, probably best to run the 1ggze intake manifold + associated sensors + piping.
Assuming you will get the coil packs, you could get it to run but how well and how long who knows.

Just get the whole 1ggze and put that in, any NA+T or NA+Z is going to have problems using an ECU which was programed for another set of parameters in mind.

Most of the parts on a 1GGZE are unique to the 1GGZE (ie different to the 1GGE and 1GGTE).
You'd basically need a complete 1GGZE to do this (with bolt on parts)

Ohk sounds like its gonna be more trouble than its worth, what about differences between the 1GGTE and 1GGE engines?

    Those are much more similar.
But its always dicey running an NA-T setup without an aftermarket ecu.

Yeah never easy is it, I'm still getting into it. So looks like if I don't start with a boosted engine its gonna end up being more trouble than its worth...

thats correct, buy a factory boosted engine, much better from the beginning and again when you want even MORE power.
