    Default W58 gearbox lengths

    Hi all,

I have seen somewhere on these forums a picture with the 4 different lengths (in inches if I remember correctly) that the W58 gearbox’s are (from the start of the box to the shifter position) and what model they came from.

I have searched for some time now and I can not find it as I looking for a W58 box that will have the shifter fit the hole in the floor of a KE30 behind a 4AGE with a nites bellhousing.

    thanks

The information is out there, but have seen that you tried searching.

The gearbox is the same length, its the shifter position thats different

Anyway, here is the pic you are after. It doesnt have the names of what models they are from but i know the 21" is the A70/Z20 Soarer, 21.5" is GX81. The shorter ones are from earlier Celicas and Supras but not sure on exact ones. I am not sure what you would require but you should be able to measure what you need.

The above transmissions feature a range of gearshift positions as standard. Measured from the front face of the transmission these are : 18, 20, 21, 21.5 inches.

    Like this?

Cross reference with that kiwi link to get the lengths. If anyone wants that Tacoma position I can get one and at a reasonable price
