I'm know 7MGTE are side feed, whereas I think injectors for the 3S and JZ engines are top feed. Someone else can verify?
Hi
I have seen some 550cc HKS injectors for sale which say suitable for 1JZ, 2JZ 3S,
low impedance
would these fit the 7m gte (never mind the electrical connection) and would i have to get a differetn fuel rail, seals or other
(planning my rebuild)

i know 7M and 1G are the same, if that helps, if someone knows what the 1G is.

g'day,
1g and 7m are top feed, as is 3s. i think you will find that both 1j and 2 j are side feed and no good to you.
what will (should?) fit though are rx7 injectors - 13b turbo there are even able to use you conectors with minor mods and are 550cc
Cheers
Stew
From memory its only a specific series that has the right injectors. I think it's S6 rx7 injectors. Side feed, 550cc and low impedence.
s4 and s5 are top feed low impedance as far as i know, and suit motors such as my ca18det.

Whats with all the misinformation!? As Toy77 correctly pointed out, 7M and 1G are both top feed, they don't suit the side-feed injectors of the JZ's. The 3S has been around for ages, so it's probably had both side and top feed depending on the version.

yep, i had it backwards.
whoops!!! sorry bout that.
Funny how things snowball when the first bit of misinformation starts
Oh well, least an answer has been found

Talking to some people who have recently upgraded their injectors from the RX7 onces to 700cc SARDs, the RX7 ones are great for up top power, but are hard to make idle properly. Speak to BlackSupra if you wanted more info on that...Originally Posted by Toy77

Its the same case with any large lo-impedance injector.
But almost any aftermarket ecu will get the idle near perfect.

I heard the same thing about the 13b ones. Ended up getting some 6 month old sard 750cc and on the dyno the other day the idle was as smooth as you now what.
My tuner told me to get as big as I can (injectors) and he will do the rest from there.
From what I know jz injectors are side feed,
3s are both side and top feed depending on age,
and 7m are top feed.

Neil.

From experience (550cc rx7 injectors are for sale now) the Rx7 injectors make great power and idle perfectly, but they take ALOT more effort to tune them correctly apparently.
Now with 700cc SARDS and everything is alot crisper and the tuner has more control over the injector operations at idle and low rpm than with the rx7 items.
Having said that, they worked fine for me, up until the point i needed more fuel for my 7m.
