Default New 4AGE 20V RWD cooling system conversion guide online

hey guys I have spent an insane amount of time over the last year and a half writing this:

    Sams new 20v cooling guide

Suggestions and feedback welcome, particularly for grammar errors, english isn't my forte. I will post this to the other forums as well.

Disclaimer: I have this on my own website which has parts for sale. In many parts of this guide it uses pictures of my own parts. This is because I was the owner of these pictures and it's what I had available. I where possible included photos of other options and talked about whats good and bad with each option including my own. I did not write this guide for financial gain, even if I did it would be stupid as I would never get the money back in proportion to the amazingly huge amount of time to write it.

now whether people will bother reading it before asking me questions is sadly a predictable answer

nice effort there sam. great to have one page with all this info.

one thing.. (surely you know the differences already) i find it weird that you'd refer to using the ae82 remote thermostat more than the ae92. i haven't looked thru your article with minute detail, but i didn't see any mention of having to modify the ae82 heater return pipe (#4 in the list) so that it doesn't point straight into the block.. or having to space the thermostat out away from the block and use a 90deg elbow.
ae92 however has an unboltable heater return pipe facing rearwards.. perfect for rwd setups. thermostat doesn't need mods.

to show differences. (both from 4age)

modified ae82 remote thermostat (heater return hose), modified ae82 water pump inlet pipe ie shortened. and cold idle control valve water fitting modified. heater hose joined for startup purposes. i would believe a restricter in the heater pipe would be better than no pipe at all so there's no stagnant water on the temp sensors at back of the head. a std heater valve doesn't completely block off water flow does it?

smallport (gze) fitted with ae92 remote thermostat. pic from stolic's 4agte ta22 build thread on toyspeed.

This is because in standard for the water it has the water sucked through it from the intake side of the head and then diverted into the back of the water pump.
um... something not quite right with this sentence.

thanks for the info, I will need to add that to my guide. I will also track down the owner of that pic and ask for permission to use it. No I didn't know anything about the AE92 model, I have seen one before without knowing what it's off and that's it. You see I have never used one of these things before.

Cuzzo: yet another typo, got to fix that.

    yep universal for bottom.
the 1325 is a holden early heater hose - so like 6 bucks - curves round nice
the other bits are just pieces of left over top ae92 top hose

    Nice guide Sam.

Grega: Only thing I don't like about those universal hoses is that over time, the spiral wire inside tends to corrode. I changed my coolant after about two years and noticed it was a bit brownish. Took off that hose and found most of the spiral was gone and the hose was starting to kink. Glad I noticed it when I did.

Maybe it depends on the coolant you use as well.

spectral- wow that really sucks, you wouldn't think it would cost much to use some coated wire or something.

for the heater out the back of the head I used an AE82 piece, cut off the flange which I think is like a 3/4 inch thick. then trimmed off the length where the 5thinjector thermo and water temp lie and welded that 90 degree cap on the end to the flange. same height as the AE86 one. Then I just moved the Water temp sensor to the bung on the remote thermostat housing. here is a picture of my motor with the FX16 bung unmodified for reference
