    after 1ggte/i1ge workshop manual that was floating around on the forums. Tryed searching but all links are dead, and yet again my computer fucked up and had 2 be formatted

    service specs are, engine mechanical isnt, but the pictures are pretty informative and you can always translate it.

    headgasket tightening pattern is interesting too.

    hay guys i am new to this just got me a toyota surf with a 1g-gte in it and i am looking for a work shop manual and like to talk to some one who knows alot about these motors i only know about holden motors can any one out there help me

    well it ant got the balls it should have but it smokes a bit when you rev it i think the ring mite be stuffed i am not sure i have another 1g-gte for it but cant find any pistons for the motor in nz and a work shop manual for one of these motors would be great

    the links are just up there ^ for the workshop manuals

    r u sure the turbo is not the cause for the smoke?

    get it compression tested and give it a quick dyno run, see what its making and the sorta mixtures its running, then they should be able to give you some suggestions.

    ive got pistons i could sell you, im going forgies, slightly scuffed but should be right.
    doesnt toyota sell them?

    Yeah, smoky under revs is pretty common. Most commonly it's valve stem seals or turbo seals.

    yea will do thanks for that if it not rings i have spear turbos off other motor thanks for the help i must put some photos up of it . it looks mean with a 4inch body lift

    cant be valve stems head was rebuilt before i got it but thanks for the help i will sort it out . nah toyota dont make them any more over here hay how much are the forgies over there?
