    Default GT2871R 4AGTE Setups

    Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knows of some PROVEN stats i.e power figures vs PSI, and spool rpms' etc of 4AGTE's when they have GT2871R's slapped on the side of them? Lots of people have there own opinions as to how well they'd adapt to 4A's etc and obviously these figures will vary according to the setup but im just interested to see some solid figures that have been made. Reason I ask is i've basically been planning on buying one for my 4AGTE setup and im about one step away from buying one.

What compressor trim and exhaust housing are we talking about?
56 trim comp wheel and .86 exhaust turbo rated at 440 hp?
Anyway im only taking an educated guess at this( i no it not what you wnt) but I would say you should see 200rwkw on about 18-20 psi. boosting around 2500rpm.

just as something to go off my old turbo ( Turbonetics T60-1 .82 exhaust) was making 212rwkw on 18 psi and boosting at 4000rpm
but thats a pretty big plain bearing turbo. ( made 283rwkw @30psi)

Definately a .64 exhaust housing so it isn't a lag master with a 56 trim for some big power figures.

Lag doesnt really concern me TOO much providing it spools up no later than 4300rpm'ish? As for the engine, Im just going to freshen it up with some good rings/bearings and a balance and as far as engine mods are concerned, it'll all be pretty standard except for the obvious i.e computer, fuel system, FMIC and a bigport head stuck on with NA cams and probably adjustable cam gears. I was basically hoping for at least 180rwkw's on about 18psi. If i make that, im happy. Its fair only going in an 800kg car so anything more than about 200 at the wheels is just going to be pointless.

Dont you think boosting by 2500rpm is a little early? Would be nice, but I would have thought the comp setup would have been a bit too big to produce that...?

This turbonetics turbo, is that a 60mm compressor inducer?

if you want something that only is going to make 180 rwkw's then may i suggest a hks 2510 or 2535 as they will make that power no probs

    Hey all!
I bought myself one of these puppy's before i went to canada cause i knew when i got back i wouldn't havew any playing money so to speak. Just wondering, obviously its going on a gze, but its going in a ke20. Would you guys recomend me putting in a w55 or something smaller due to weight? I think the w58 is mass overkill but dont really know what power the w55 or w50 would handle?
I have a the gze in atm with a t50 but wont last long me thinks!

Firstly, I can get a GT2871R in the exact specs I want, for a really good price. Brand new for $1300. My mate bought it and isnt going to use it which is convienient for me!

Secondly, When I say I want 'at least' 180rwkw, I know in about 6months after driving it with that much power, i'll get greedy and want more. At least if i can squeeze more out of the turbo if i want, I wont have to change it. 180rwkw is a nice reliable figure.. the motor should live for at least a few months. 220rwkw is probably going to be more realistic, just not all the time. Maybe for the odd day out at the drags, dyno day etc...

Anything over 140rwkws, I'd seriously be considering a W5x box. Unless you dont mind changing gearboxes?? If thats the case, just run celica T50's rather than sprinter T50's (as they're easier to find and cheaper) and change one of them every 6 months or so? I just couldnt be stuffed because its such a pain working on underneath cars, so i'm sticking a supra box in and being done with it!

So extacly which supra gearbox you putting in? Old school or new W57,W58?
i'm thinking of a W55. Not too sure what the size difference is between the W5x range but i might do a search now. Dont think so, but is there a 6 speed in any of the W5x boxes?
Imagine a ke20 4agte 6 speed. I would need a spare pair of undies everytime i drove the thing.

Im running W57. cheaper and easier to find than a W58. The 5th gear ratio is the only difference and subsequently isnt as good.

Didnt bother looking at W55. Figured if I was going to go to the effort of getting a custom bellhousing to fit it, I may as well go all the way. As for 6 speed, you'd have to go a box out of a 2JZ which is different again. And no doubt twice as expensive.

I thought that would be the case. If they are the same length, and are they the same weight?
Do you know there overall length compaerd to a t50?
I have a modded ra41 rear end i think, but i think i might have to cut it down abit if i go to a W5x right?

RPM016t 2500 may be a little early i guess but would say you would deff have some form of boost by 3000. it is a roller bearing turbo and they boost pretty bloody quick. If my big bloody T60 can boost by 4000 that thing will boost by 3000 no prob Lol

I have just gone to a GT3540 monster and i actually think even though its bigger than the T60-1 i think it will boost earlier cos its a roller.

    Chris: turbonetics T60-1 has a 3 inch inlet with a 2.75 (70mm) compressor wheel

Bretto: with a custom bellhousing the overall lenght is the same. ( to be technical its within 10mm!).
