    Default CCG/Summernats Club Day – Sunday 10 January 2010 = Free Entry!!

One again the CCG is participating in the Club Day promo at Summernats. Those that have attended with us previously know that this is a great way to get free entry to the Nats and get to park in the middle of the oval…also for free. We usually take turns in watching over the CCG cars and still getting out and about to see the magnificent cars on show.

For those with TOYOTAS that wish to join in, we will need the following details:
    • Owners name
    • Vehicle type and year
    • Vehicle rego
    • Number of people attending in your car

Forgot to mention that the rules say that you can ONLY HAVE 2 ADULTS in each car for free (kids under 16 are free). More than 2 adults and they have to pay regular prices. Reminder that I also need your details for your car etc by 7th to get free entry.....

If you know of anyone that wants to be involved please post here or email Mitch at [email protected]. The organisers have been asked by a couple of interested people "is my car is good enough?" In short, YES if you are a member of a club than you are welcome to bring your Toyota, even a work in progress.....
Please remember this is about promoting our CCG so don't forget your CCG manners!!!

    Advice received so far:
It is important that all participants meet a Dickson College car park at 8.30 am first; it is at the corner of Antill St and Phillip Ave Watson. If you just turn up at gate 4 without a sticker on your car you will be turned back, no sticker no entry!

For security reasons, we need to confirm or add your details before we can issue the car entry sticker and armbands. It is also important that each club wait for all their attending members to arrive before driving their cars down. Basically this is necessary if you want to park together as a club, it will not be possible to add a car to that group later. Naturally it will be up to each club’s delegate to contact any missing members before proceeding down to gate 4.

It is also important to remember that for security reasons the car sticker must be displayed on the front windscreen facing forward, it is a self adhesive paper sticker that can either be stuck straight onto the glass (outside) or attached to the glass with tape or blue tac etc.

So if any of our Yota fans out there wish to participate, please post your details here. I will need all entry details by Thursday 7 January 2010!
    Cheers
    CCG Team

nah not till i get diff sorted standard one will kick the bucket very quickly at the drags. track day though.....

I have some temp issues now car seems to run really hot if I stay on the gas for extened periods of time. it comes down again really quick as soon as i get of the gas. im going to try low temp theromstat and a high presure radiator cap. and if that fails look at lifting the back of the bonnet to see if air flow is the issue

My 1JZ does exactly the same thing mate. When on extended full throttle runs it climbs fast to over 100 degrees, but almost as soon as you've backed off it returns to normal. I fitted the TRD thermostat and 1.4 bar radiator cap, and cut a vent & diffuser in the bonnet, is now better, but still does it (just takes longer).

Lifting the bonnet at the back will only help you at the traffic lights when the car is stationary. It will do two-tenths of fark all once moving, as its a high pressure area below the windscreen, and will actually create MORE of a restriction to flow through the radiator and engine bay. Only the first 1/3rd or so of the bonnet will draw air out, as its a low pressure area. Let me save you the hassle now and say don't do it Leave it to the landcruiser boys.

Is there an undertray fitted since the 2jz went in? Should shroud in the area between the radiator support panel back to the sump at least, will assist the airflow post-radiator to exit the engine bay.

    Cheers

nah no under tray could be a good idea. It gets way hot way quick I'm sure if i stayed on the gas it would boil quick smart. im not really game to test that so the track could be an issue as you are on the gas so much with little down time...

saying that it was mid 30's on the days I have been playing around with it so ambient air temp could be a major contributing factor ill attempt to sort it further when i get back it can wait till then as the car is perfectly drivable ATM
