Default How do I hook the "power button" up to an Aristo ECU.

I have found supra pinouts and the supra has "MANU" but the aristo has "ECT-S Power button" I tried both supplying the equivelant pinout for the Supras "MANU" with 12V+ and earth and I cound not notice any difference in shift response. Supra lists "MANU" to be Pin 18.

This prob has been shitting my for ages, I would be very gratefull to anyone that can help. Shifts take forever in economy and I a am worried it might ware to box out quicker due to the extra slip.

1UZ's give the ECU +12v to enable PWR.
I can only presume that yours is the same.

With PWR on, the kickdown is quicker, it will kick down 2 gears instead of one, and it will rev out to almost redline, where at with PWR off, it will change ~1000rpm before redline.

I can't say the 2JZ will be the same, just trying to suggest what may happen.

Thanks, any help like this is what I am after. According to the supra diagram it wants earth for MANU and any other input I can think of like OD, kickdown etc.. (I assume MANU is the equivelant to PWR)

But I saw a couple of other diagrams of totota stuff and it they did have +12V going to power, so I hooked 12V+ up to it. I hope hooking +12V to where an earth should have gone didn't hurt anything.

If cruising without PWR on, will enableing it unlock the converter too?

    CrUZida,

Yep, that about sums it up for my setup (Aristo sourced 2JZGTE + A340LE)
Much Firmer kickdown, will drop back further (depending on the gear/speed) & revs to redlinbe

One other thing, if you have the ECT-S PWR switch ON and put the shifter into 2nd gear, it will start off in 2nd.

Unsure about the cruising/tq convertor locking up. Never really noticed it, so I'd say it still locks up.

But Southo's raised an interesting test.

Put the shifter in 2nd, and take off. If it takes off in first, thats normal.
Now enable PWR and repeat. If it takes off in 2nd, then PWR works.

Southo, do you know which pinout it is and can you confirm if its a +12V or earth that needs to go to the pinout?

I can't get it to take off in second.

Surely someone knows what pinout it is, and if it needs pos or neg input?

Southo, did you wire your own?

Checked my car the other night, PWR on while cruising DOES NOT unlock the TC.

There was no difference between on and off @ 100kph.

I figured it out. It needs 12V+ to the pin out and not an earth like the supra. I did test it with 12+ before but I was looking out for the wrong actions to tell if it was working becuase I got told bullshit in another forum. I hooked 12V+ up to it and now it will take off in second gear if I select it. The shifts seem much faster and the engine revs higher before a shift.

That you could get it to hold 3rd gear like you all told me it does with second. So I was trying to get it to do that and it never worked so I thought the button was not working.

    i don't think MANU = pwr.

    well, my corona has

    ECT-S PWR, and
    ECT-S MANU

Manu gives shorter quicker shifts, so i liken it to economy

Yeah I got every annoying and info on another forum and I still don't know what all that is meant to do becuase of it. All I have is an OD button and a Power button which I both got working. I don't think there is another one on the Aristo is there?
