Hmmm been a while since I posted, had a few things on another forum that has now died :s

Not sure how many people are on here still however

Coming back to NZ over Easter to see Steve and get a timeline worked out to get the car finished. I am still in no rush but need to see some progress happening

Chassis has been seam wielded and prepped for a 6point cage (all glass removed etc) but not had many updates otherwise.

I have had a few things taking priority so haven't really chased it, looking at buying another house in the next few months along with moving up the chain some more work wise.

Did a rough outline of what it will cost me for (and then doubled it )

ECU (Probably a Haltech 2500 at this stage) and Tune
    Fuel system
    Engine (9A) and clutch
    Boost sources and control etc
    Tires
    Electric steering
    Rear brakes
    Hans and another race seat
    Carbon fiber bits
Aftermarket Front/Center and rear diff (if the budget stretches) otherwise it will be after its all running

Probably missed a few things but the list is slowly getting smaller

Don't want to say how much but its about what I thought. in hindsight could have gone and brought a few other cars but oh well (Still could but this car has emotional attachments for me)

And to be fair I would have gotten similar results with other platforms, don't plan on ever selling this car either so hopefully I get the enjoyment when its finished

Funny how things snowball when you want to do them right the first time

Just ordered front brakes and RCA ball joints from Barry (MRP) Wilwoods, 328x28mm rotors, all parts to fit and braided lines etc

Looking at options for a rear setup but will probably end up with ST205 rear discs and either factory ST205 rear calipers if I can find some or a wilwood item

Evo X rotors are a close match so investigating those atm

Will post more pics over Easter still a lot to do

For anyone with an st185 or st205

My 5x114.3 conversion(mentioned in previous posts) uses

    Front Rav4 drive flanges
Rear Toyota Highlander bearing and drive flange package

Front brakes are Ba falcon 329x28mm rotors with wilwood 4pots from MRP (discs need spacer/locator ring and adapters for calipers) but its there st185 kit setup for 5x114.3

Rears are going to be z34 370z 350x20mm rotors (work with factory 170mm handbrake) (discs need spacer/locator ring and adapters for calipers) and remanufactured 370z Brembo 2pot calipers from Stop tech, could also go for the z33 350z 322x22mm

You can also use Z32,R32,R33,R34 rear Rotors (290mm) with the factory handbrake with nissan 2pots adapters etc required

Apart from custom braided lines, caliper adaptors and locating/spacer rings

Parts are common and off the shelf
Pads, discs, calipers, caliper rebuild kits etc

    Hope this makes sense

    Update from facebook

Looks like the project car is getting some more progress, test fitting the non built 7afe dummy engine from an ae115 with the awd box for transfer-case clearance. I also have a rebuilt GT4 gearbox for when the 9a motor goes in which will have the bell-housing off the E series 4agze box I have spare.

Steve will be making me new chromoly sub-frames front and rear to reduce weight and allow for transfer case/diff, we have discussed cutting the floor for clearance but hoping it doesn't need it. Once that's mocked up it'll be cage time shell has already been seam welded

Still need to order fuel system and a few other things

Looking forward to seeing more updates

Current goals are to get it rolling and as many parts on as possible. Tbh if the 7afe actually runs it may stay in it for a bit haha just to move it round

Also a pic of the seat sitting in it from when I was there over Easter

    On the table
