    Default MX73 F series diff tension?

    Howdy,

    Just a quick question. Im in the process of getting my diff rebuilt for my 85 MX73 Cressida and just need to know what tension it needs to be at?

    mm you would think so
    most highly recommended diff shop in my area and its taken him 2 and a half months to source pinion bearings :S

    I too suggest a new shop.

    The diff is somewhat fairly common and was released to the Australian Market.

    Unless there is a major shortage...

    haha yeh I think a new diff shop is in order
    I doubt there would be a major shortage hey, I don't think he really knows where to look thats all.... Definitely go somewhere else when it comes TruTrac time

    hey in those instructions what does "SST" stand for... is it some special tool. if so how much would it be. i really want to learn about diffs more. i thought i'd take a spare one i have appt.

    oh yeah and sorry not trying to hijack the thread but am i still able to buy std lsd parts direct from toyota or will i have to get a true track if i want to freshen up my diff.

    Toyota, and mucho expensive.

    They have ONE SPECIFIC tool for ONE TASK.
    Rather than a general tool that will do many tasks.

    No worries man go for it, these are the guys to ask.
    I've learn't more from these guys than any so called "specialist" that I've taken my car to
