Default Single Piece Tailshaft in ra23 with Hilux Diff

Just some pics of the new tailshaft in my car.

For those who don't know and are interested:

    Ra23 - 1uz - a340 - G Series Diff

    It's a Chrome Moly tube with 1350 series unis/yokes

Just out of curiosity, what oil do I put in my diff? And how much? (having drained it)

how much did it cost you?

I need to get a tailshaft made for my KE70 (W58 to volvo) and want to know how much moolah to budget for it.

    looks nice.

just use diff oil. it will be labelled as such

i assume you put oil in the diff until it reaches the fill point (can see in your second pic).

tailshafts can be hell cheap (re-use old tubing, you supply yoke and existing unis, just get modified for length and balanced).... or hell expensive (from scratch, expensive components).

I've paid under $200 for a single piece tailshaft on a number of occasions... and know someone who has spent well over $1k on one.
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....

I'm sure my Hilux diff took close to or more than 3L which really surprised me, cheaper to buy a 4L than multiple smaller bottles usually. Oil you use will depend on the centre you have fitted, I just used Castrol LSD oil for mine buts its a factory clutch pack LSD.

Got my LSX 90 diff oil.

    Cost $700.

Included 3 inch chrome moly tubing, new diff flange (on diff), 1350 unis on both ends and adapting the supra yoke onto the 1350 ears(unis).

So frankly for all the work they did with the fancy parts it was cheaper than I expected.

Fucking brutal bit of kit though, the car will smash in half before it breaks.
